The New America Times
Sunday, November 3, 1776 · the papers of Monday 28 October to Saturday 2 November
This is not a number of the paper. It is a plain-English list, made now, of what each paper of the past week reported, in the order that paper gave it: its first sections, one line each. Where a report concerned something that had happened on an earlier day, that day is given, because news travelled slowly. Nothing here says what came next. Each line rests on one item in one paper and links to it; the paper's own words for each line are at the foot of the page.
Every line above is one entry in the paper's event register — the same record the map is drawn from — and each entry names the paper, the section and the words in the paper it rests on. Those words are given here. The sources behind the paper's own words are in that day's bibliography, linked from each entry.
